I started building for the web the way a lot of people do — tweaking a WordPress theme that didn't quite do what a client needed. That small itch turned into a decade of writing plugins, then full applications.

These days I split my time between two worlds: custom WordPress and Gutenberg work on one side, and MERN-stack applications on the other. The common thread is that I care about the parts users never see — the query that stays fast, the API that returns the same shape every time, the update that doesn't break someone's site at 2am.

I like problems that need both design sense and engineering. I'd rather ship one well-considered feature than five rushed ones.
